いい気分だわ!

Autumn in Animal Crossing New Horizons

The trees are changing colors and mushrooms appear every morning. Red leaves flutter through the sky, Turkey day is approaching! The seasonal vibe is undeniable. It could be happening outside, in my actual neighborhood, but I am more deeply interested in the current events on my Animal Crossing island called Pretty City.

A cozy kitchen

I recently decorated every room of my fake house to look more autumnal. Outside I placed so many pumpkins, pies, marigold and cornucopia displays.  There are other ACNH players who are so creative about building up and decorating their islands to a specific and clever theme, but mine is not like that, it’s very “default settings”. It’s cute to me but not as skilfully terraformed and customized as some more amazing gamers I’ve seen. I tried to make a city inspired isle, with lots of paving (but no cars!) and places where I can swap out the decor as the seasons and in-game holidays occur. It isn’t really impressive but I enjoy myself and have fun with it overall.  I’ve hit about 1400 hours of playing, which is kind of disgusting to consider, but it’s my life and that’s what I choose to waste time on!

The mushroom table and chairs are too cute! Thanks to a monarch butterfly for the beautiful photobombing

As long as I’ve played there are still many achievements I strive towards such as growing a purple windflower, cloning more gold roses, collecting every astrology recipe and each color of ballet slippers available. I think it’s cute for my character to carry a bag, so I also try to buy every single one that I can.

It’s a very weird bathroom

I can’t remember exactly what the upcoming event “Turkey Day” is all about, but I think there are challenges that involve cooking with specific ingredients, and serving it to the villagers. My main recollection is, there’s a large anthropomorphic Turkey that comes to town on the date of the American holiday Thanksgiving.

Sometime in the summer, I set up the ACNH “dream address”, so others can visit a version of my Pretty City (players get there by laying in a bed in the game, the code to enter is DA-4926-7152-9260). It was around the time of my birthday I got that going, so anyone who is inclined to log on and visit is very welcome to see what what was going on with my villagers in August, after I carefully plucked the weeds and combed for any dropped items.

  1. Your AC posts spark me to visit again, but then I think of all the roaches I’d have to kill in order just to begin. 😀

    1. It’s fun to find out what the villagers think of seeing you after a long time away. The roaches really are annoying, though
