There is an annoying couple in ANCH (a videogame I have played for over 1000 hours, wow) who continuously celebrate their love for eachother every day through June. They are a pair of alpacas and want wedding themed anniversary photos taken. Sometimes they ask to recreate their own nuptial ceremony or re-imagine it in a distinctly different style. They might ask to have a reception party photographed with decorations of a specific color palette, or a particular variety of props, each day more demands. It’s not my favorite aspect of the video game, and is easy to avoid, but I’ve been playing with them more this year. There are rewards when you do a photoshoot, and cute items that become unlocked. I’ve been having fun wearing strange outfits and experimenting using more negative emotional reactions toward them, and generally ruining their sentimental pictures.

Wedding season in Animal Crossing is pathetic, and irl too. Please don’t invite me to any weddings, because I’m not coming! I’m not much of a romantic, sorry if that’s disappointing to learn. Love and the pursuit of any pair-bonding is just not very interesting to me anymore. Love, beyond the relationship between a mother and her child, seems very lame.

Marriage is a patriarchal Christian ritual (maybe they have it amongst other religions too) the implications are pretty disgusting and offensive to consider. Congratulations, if you’re getting laid for the first time, I guess?
I’m much happier to have or throw a party when the divorce is finalized, that’s an aspect of matrimony I sincerely extol (“the end” however it comes). I was married for 15 years, to a Gen X mommy’s boy man-child, unfortunately, and it was a nightmare, in case you wonder how I became “like this”.

There has been extremely hot weather lately, and it’s a part of my hater nature to enjoy it, I suppose. It’s been in the upper 90’s in New York this week (about 35C some say). I still love to have a hot tea when my body is already dripping sweat. Hot showers on a blazing summery day feels great! The fan and AC are good too, of course, I am lucky to have both.
Hearing warnings and caution urged toward the miserable heat is a comfort for some reason. I spend a lot of time worried about the climate and increased carbon dioxide, methane levels, and such, so it’s vindicating to ever hear about it from someone else who seems interested or alarmed. There were disastrous storms, flooding, and earthquakes in the news lately, the oppressive heat is disrupting all kinds of idealistic plans. Think of all the weddings that are prevented by glaciers melting, and let me envision it in Animal Crossing the next time I’m taking pics of the happy couple
