This themed tarot deck came out pretty early in the Covid-19 situation, summer of 2020 and sorry to say I wondered if it was a cash grab at the time. Unfortunately many supposed independent artists selling tarot decks online offer hastily thrown together AI crap or the deck release that turns out to be entirely a scam. I was really wrong this time, and I’m glad to have this in my collection. The images in the Corona Tarot are thoughtful and powerful. The guide it comes with is a PDF, and only offers a line or two of keyword for each card. I’ve never seen one presented this way and it sets itself apart. “Channeled through Steve Speer with Scott Rose”, it says on the box. The deck has gone out of print but I got mine for about $50 when that USA government stimulus money was flowing.
There was so much crazy news happening everyday and some more words on the box “horrenda prorsus absurdissima” (“completely absurd and horrible”, says google, translated from Latin) captures it well.
During 2020 I was using a social media app called Byte, a “TikTok clone” someone described it, even though it was made earlier by the creators of Vine (that ancient app).
