Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue

This is a blog post about one of my favorite perfumes, it’s called Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue.  “Top notes are Sicilian Lemon, Apple, Cedar and Bellflower; middle notes are Bamboo, Jasmine and White Rose; base notes are Cedar, Musk and Amber” according to the fragrance app Fragrantica. Idiotic comments on reddit often claim its boring and basic, lol! Reading between the lines I think they just hate when things are feminine

It’s a pretty popular floral-fruity fragrance that’s been around for a long time (over 20 years) but I just found out that I love it in the last  year or so. I had gotten a box of perfume samples from Ulta, there were about 18 vials of best selling favorites.  By the name it never seemed particularly interesting to me, there is nothing of the color “light blue” in my wardrobe, idk what aesthetic or mood it’s supposed to evoke. 

I looked at photos of the officially packaged bottle and thought that Light Blue wasn’t impressive, it actually reminded me of Secret deodorant packaging. While I was going through the sampler palette I made a YouTube playlist of every video ad for all these strangely named designer scents and found D&G so off putting and opposite my preferred expression or aesthetic, it was among the least enjoyable perfume commercials! 

I was surprised how much I liked to wear it though, and that it actually made me feel happy. Even though I have long struggled with mental health and am basically never happy?! When I ran out of juice in the tiny sample bottle I had to have more. So I got it last spring and now reach for this lovely sweet perfume pretty often.
