I had a lovely cozy time with my dear daughter exchanging gifts and celebrating the dark end of the year. She gave me a jacket I had tried on in a store back in the summer- it was so cute but then I balked at the price tag. My mind is blown and my heart so happy my only kid somehow remembered that, and actually bought it for me. I hope she got a sale price, anyway I feel so loved and honored to have this jacket and also to have such a thoughtful child who cares about me.
It’s a light summer jacket and I put it on immediately, but it’s going to be months before I can really wear it outside. It’s so special to me and will help me look forward to the future, that’s an extremely powerful winter solstice gift! She gave me a Squishmallow too, also very thoughtful since I adore them but have stopped myself from collecting them anymore. It’s a lion plush doll with a rainbow mane (my sun sign is Leo) and he claims to have a coding hobby so maybe he’ll be helpful and inspiring as I keep blogging. Thank you so much my sweet kiddo
I had given my daughter her presents already, I couldn’t resist, and think I detailed them in another entry- it was a variety of items from her online wishlists without much creativity on my part. She wanted stationary, electronics accessories, specific organizational stuff, so I got it. The only item I chose on my own was an “Advent calendar” of William Morris inspired beauty products. We’re not Christian (yikes! And yuck) but it was a gorgeous box and my little one craves luxurious fragrances.
One funny but kind of scary thing that happened on winter solstice was when I overloaded my apartment with too many appliances running for a minute and it killed all the lights and electricity to half of our home. It was pretty easy to flip the circuit breaker and bring everything back on, but for a moment it was very a dark and spooky mystery. Thanks so much to my daughter for holding the flashlight and doing Google searches while I nearly cried and could not think straight about what happened. Thanks to her for setting the correct time on our clock again, and all the amazing things she does for me
We ate biscotti that day, and had grocery store sushi, candy, curry and a sea salt mochi, and we watched two cute movies together. We had planned to go to the movie theater today but the weather turned bad so that’s been postponed! It’s a national blizzard I think, a very big winter storm. It’s the new moon phase at the moment too and nearly a new year 2023 so cheers, good vibes and gratitude ❤
