Lunch with My Baby

I met my daughter at the mall yesterday and we had lunch together. It had been about a week since I saw my baby (actually she is an adult now, lol) and almost a month since I last visited the mall.  I had to run some errands anyway and it’s a convenient place for her and I to meet. I was curious to see the holiday decorations and any items my daughter might be interested in having for a gift. We are not Christians and don’t celebrate Christmas so I buy her gifts pretty much every month, she is so good and deserving of being spoiled, in my opinion. Keeping my dear only child supplied with everything she wants is a year round obsession.  She has wishlists on Amazon,  etsy and a stationary site jetpen.com, but I was glad she spotted some lotion she wanted and let me buy her while we were shopping in person. There was an advent calendar filled with luxurious beauty products and William Morris artwork so I bought that for her to enjoy through December.  For myself I got 2 calendars for 2023 to put in different rooms. One is Sanrio characters and the other is Hatsune Miku wearing different costumes each month

Personally I hoped to get sushi for lunch but my kiddo informed me she had eaten sushi the previous day. We are so different, because I would happily eat sushi daily! She’s not about that life though. I didn’t complain very much,  we went to another favorite food court option called ChickenNow.

I always get the same order there, it’s called Mashed Potato Bowl (mashed potatoes covered with sliced Fried Chicken, gravy, corn and cheddar cheese). I hope to never learn how many calories it contains and avoid eating anything else in a day when I’ve been there. My daughter gets something called Chicken Box, which is fried chicken tenders and french fries, with some kind of pale orange sauce. Back before Covid the price of these items was around $15 and yesterday our lunch cost over $20 omg. That is the inflation I’ve heard about I guess, chicken shortages and such, and it made me not want to go there anymore

Usually at the mall my daughter and I get boba tea and a massage but we didn’t yesterday,  we got candy instead (chocolate covered gummy bears) and spent too much time in the candy store then had buses to catch home. I’ll probably go back in the next few weeks though, I still like the mall! I saw a few cute things I need to think about whether I want and if they’re even still around when I return
